Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.                                                                                                                 

Dr. King was born in 1929 and was assassinated in April of 1968 while standing on the balcony of a hotel where he was staying.  Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a man who talked about peace, justice, freedom and equality of all people.  Many people in America didn't believe in equality when Dr. King was alive so he tried to teach about being kind to all people. Dr. King was a very smart man. He skipped his ninth and twelfth grade years of high school and went to college when he was 15 years old.  Twenty colleges gave him honorary degrees.
