 Searching for Files or Folders in Windows

 

Go to the Start menu. Select "Find," then choose "Files or Folders."

When you select "Files or Folders" from the menu, this box will appear.

Type the name of the file or folder you are searching for. Then choose the location you want to search.

In my example, I want to find the folder titled "Instructions" and I want to search my Z: drive. After I enter the information, I click on "Find Now."

My search found two items that matched my search criteria. It found a folder named Instructions. It also found a file with the word "instructions" in it.
