Notes For Parents
Parents can help:
Homework - your child will be receiving homework occasionally to finish a project. It will only be those activities which a student can do outside the school and have a direct application to classroom studies.
Read Aloud - read to your child daily.
Practice their letters and numbers:
Have them point to the letter the class is studying that week when you're reading, have them write the letter. Make up cards for the site words and go over them together.Lifeskills - discuss the lifeskills being emphasized in class. Identify for them how they are used in your family. "I like the way you showed patience when I was on the phone and you wanted a snack."
Your interest and encouragement will help them succeed. Take time to get involved in their learning and praise all the little steps they take each day to learn and grow.
