String art combines elements of art with math. Students use straight lines (string) to connect corresponding points to create images. Geometric shapes are formed by leading the eye to "see" an image. It is formed by using positive and negative areas of color and overlapping of color areas. Students start out with simple images and then progress to complex images as cubes, pyramids, and ellipses.
