Compass art uses tools of math as well as concepts of measurement, symmetry, and vocabulary. Students start by folding the paper in four equal parts. Using the center fold, one circle forms the middle of the image. From the center all other circles drawn must be symmetric. When color is added symmetry is again used. Colored pencil was the medium used.
