Tree Collage - Gr. 1

Students used a combination of media: cut paper, marker, crayon, and tempera paint. Warm and cool colors were discussed, as well as pattern and texture. Students used their fingers to create the leaves. An introduction on how to draw trees was made during this lesson. Important concepts were: trees have texture, the size of the limbs diminish as they move away from the trunk of the tree. The lesson linked concepts in science and math.
