Students progress through grade levels learning different ways to weave. In fifth grade students learn a new way to use a loom. Pony beads are woven onto the wooden bead loom using a technique similar to simple weaving, but altered to secure the beads in place. Students must first create a pattern on a graph sheet, so they know the order the beads are placed onto the weaving.
