Grade Six created masks from human and animal forms. Plaster was used as the medium. Students were required to draw and color a plan prior to beginning work. The masks were finished in tempera paint. Additional items as yarn, jewels, straw (for whiskers), buttons, etc. were added with a glue gun. This lesson followed a unit on color mixing and the color wheel.
